Shakespeare Memorial Theatre THE SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL STRATFORD-UPON-AVON UNDER the direction of Mr. F. R. BENSON, the annual series of DRAMATIC PERFORMANCES will be given commencing on Monday, April 22nd, 1912. Eleven plays of Shakespeare will be presented, including the Roman Plays: "Coriolanus," "Julius Cresar," and "Antony and Cleopatra." The Programme will also include : "Pelleas and Melisande," in which Mr. Martin Harvey will appear supported by his Company, "You Never Can Tell," by G. Bernard Shaw, and "She Stoops to Conquer," by Oliver Goldsmith. Mr. Arthur Bourchier will appear as "Petruchio" and Miss Violet Vanbrugh as "Katharina" in "The Taming of the Shrew," on Monday afternoon, April 22nd, 1912. THE F. R. BENSON COMPANY WILL INCLUDE: F. All applications, made before opening of Box Office, must be by letter, and seats will be allotted on Saturday, March 22nd, in the order the applications are received. SHAKESPEARE MEMORIAL ASSOCIATION.-All are invited to join the Association in order that they may be kept in touch with the work which is being done. Associates are admitted free to the Festival Club, the Library, Picture Gallery, Tower, and Gardens, and to all Lectures and Demonstrations organised by the Governors. Minimum annual subscription for Associates, 5s.; Life membership, £5. FESTIVAL CLUB.-During the Festival the Memorial Lecture Room is arranged as a READING ROOM AND RENDEZVOUS for Visitors to the Town. Newspapers are provided. Subscriptions to the Club, for Visitors who are not Associates, from April 22nd to May 11th inclusive 46. 6d.; two weeks, 3s. 6d; one week, 2s. 6d.; or 1s. day.

The general Programme of events includes :-Unfurling of National Flags, Floral Procession to the Church and Decoration of the Poet's Tomb, on 23rd April. Decoration of the Town; Exhibition in the Guildhall; May Day Revels; Lectures; &c. Further particulars to be obtained from the Hon. General Secretary, MR. G. ASHFIELD, Address :-Union Chambers Union Street, Stratford-upon-Avon. The Shakespeare Sermon, on Sunday, April 28th, will be preached by the Rev. the Hon. E. Lyttelton, Head Master of Eton. THE SUMMER SEASON will be held August 3rd to 3lst, 1912. Applications for further particulars, and also enquiries concerning Apartments, or the Summer Season, should be made to Miss A.
